Games shall consist of at least six (6) innings, with 4 innings making up a complete game. Weekdays during the school year, no inning should start after 7:30PM. At all other times, no inning should start after sixty (60) minutes of play.
Base paths of 60 feet will be used.
Tee balls will not weigh less than five (5) oz.
No score is kept and no league standings are maintained.
Coaches are responsible for playing catcher when their team is at bat. Youth catchers are not permitted.
A maximum of three coaches are permitted on the field when their team is on defense.
Batters will always hit off a tee. Players are not allowed to place the ball on the tee.
Coaches, after placing the ball on the tee, shall alert defensive players by announcing “Ball on the tee,” or “Ball in play.”
There are no strikeouts; the batter must hit the ball in play. Bunting is prohibited.
Halfway through the season, coach pitch play will begin, where batters get three pitches. If a fair ball is not hit after three pitches, batters will hit from a tee.
Batted balls must travel at least fifteen (15) feet to be in play. Any ball that does not travel past a fifteen (15) foot arc drawn in front of home plate is considered a foul ball.
Base runners may not advance on passed balls or overthrows.
Outs will be recognized, but it is up to the coaches prior to the start of a game if player leaves the base. Each team bats through their entire line-up each time at bat, with the last batter (and those occupying a base) running around all bases to home.
Once an infielder has possession of the ball, runners may NOT advance beyond the base the runner is on. If they are being forced to advance (i.e. runner on first and a ground ball is hit), they may continue to do so even after the infielder has possession.
No runner may leave the base until the ball is hit into play.
If a runner misses a base, he is out. Play will continue until time is called and then the umpire will call the player out. The runner may stay at that base, but the out is still recorded.
Playoff seeding will be by random drawing prior to the start of playoffs. Final regular season records will have no impact on playoff seeding.
