Important Information

Placements

Each year after the registration period closes, all players who are new to the league and players who are moving up to a new level are asked to attend a placement session. Placement sessions give coaches a chance to assess the relative abilities of each player prior to assigning them to teams Once all of the players have been evaluated, they are placed on teams through a draft process that is designed to create fair and balanced teams with an even distribution of talent.

ALL PLAYERS NEW TO NCYBA BETWEEN THE AGES OF 7 AND 17 AND ALL RETURNING PLAYERS MOVING UP TO A NEW DIVISION MUST ATTEND PLACEMENTS.

Just off of Limekiln Rd. next to Motel 6 near Exit 40A of Rte. I-83.

PLEASE BRING A GLOVE, SNEAKERS ONLY. No cleats.

T-Ball: There are no placements for T-Ball players.

Ponys:
All 7 year old Pony League baseball players must attend placements on Tuesday, February 20th between 5:30 and 8:00 pm.

Minors:
All 9 year old Minor League baseball players must attend their placement session on Tuesday, February 27th between 5:30 and 6:45 pm.

Majors:
All 11 year old Major League baseball players must attend their placement session on Tuesday, February 27th between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. In addition, any 10 year old Minor League baseball players interested in trying out for a spot on a Major Division team should attend this placement session.

Teeners:
Placements for all Teeners will be on Tuesday, March 6th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Please refer to the back of this sheet for additional Teener League information.

Fundraiser

1st prize-$500   2nd prize-$400   3rd prize-$300   4th prize-$200    six 5th place prizes of $100 each
That’s $2,000.00 worth of prizes to be distributed among only NCYBA supporters!

Each player will be responsible for selling 15 raffle tickets ($5.00 per ticket) at a total cost of $75.00 per player. There will be no buy-out
at a reduced amount. There will, however, be a maximum of only two fundraisers required per family for multiple players in a family.

We recommend pre-paying for the fundraiser at the time of registration. If you decline the pre-pay option, all money and ticket stubs must be turned in to your coach by Saturday, March 17, 2018. The drawing will be held at the Opening Day Ceremony on Saturday, April 14, 2018. You need not be present to win.

There are lots of ways to help the kids and show your support for youth baseball in New Cumberland. Whether you sponsor a team, support
our 2018 Golf Outing, or place an advertisement in our program, we have several different sponsorship opportunities for budgets large and
small. The NCYBA is a non-profit youth sports organization with a mission of providing a safe and fun atmosphere for our area youth to play
and learn the great game of baseball. Every dollar you contribute is vital, and we thank you for your consideration!

Cleat Exchange

NCYBA will again be coordinating a cleat exchange to help make baseball more affordable for every family. Please bring your clean,
lightly used cleats to sign-ups and placements. During placements and from 10:00 AM - 1:00 pm on March 10 at the Borough Park
concession stand, families may select from available quantities and take home a pair of cleats that fits their child at no charge. Families
are asked to take only one pair per child. For more information, please contact Ray Cloak at (717) 645-1014.

Uniforms

Each player receives a hat, jersey, socks, and pants. If you would like to supply your own pants, they must be grey.

Insurance

Your family’s insurance is the primary carrier. It is your responsibility to be knowledgeable of your health insurance requirements.
NCYBA provides secondary insurance. Always file medical claims through your health insurance carrier before submitting bills to
NCYBA for payment. NCYBA is not liable for insurance company deductibles. It is the responsibility of the participation guardian to
pay deductible expenses.

TEENER NCYBA TEENER LEAGUE BASEBALL

Teener Uniforms All teener players will be issued fitted hats, home and away jerseys, and socks.  Teener teams will decide on their pants color, and each player will be responsible for supplying their own. 

Due to the competitive nature of Teener baseball, placement on a team is not guaranteed. Cuts are possible.

- NCYBA teams will be formed depending upon the number of players who sign up and how their ages and abilities apply to the GWSTL league structure 
- Every effort will be made to place all players who sign up on time a position on a team. NCYBA will work with Cedar Cliff Youth Baseball when forming teams in order to maximize the number of players placed on a team for both associations.
- Late sign ups will be considered only if additional players are needed to fill out a competitive team. Players who sign up late will not be placed on a team before any player who signs up on time.
- Maximum team size will be 12 players.
Teener teams are formed following the Greater West Shore Teener League By Laws.

Hampden Youth Baseball 13 Year Old League (Transitional league using 75’ bases) National Junior Division = 13-14 year olds (Competitive) National Senior Division = 13-17 year olds (Competitive) American League = 13-17 year olds (Recreational for players not on a National League team or on their High School team)
Greater West Shore Teener League By Law guidelines on forming teams
-Each association must enter a National League team before fielding an American League team -Junior Division players are permitted to be rostered (as substitutes) on a Senior Division team -National League players are designated (P) Primary and can’t play on an American League team -American League players designated (A) American can be rostered (as substitutes) on a National League team -All High School players must be approved by the GWSTL Board to play in the American League -Waivers must be granted by the home association for players to sign up outside of their association boundaries
