2020 Season Update

Dear NCYBA Families,

As always, I hope this email find you and your families healthy and well.

I wanted to provide all with an update to where we stand with our Spring 2020 Season.

The NCYBA Board of Directors has met and have unanimously voted to NOT begin any form of practice while in the ‘Yellow’ phase. As we came to this conclusion, we have also concluded it’s best to cancel the Spring 2020 season altogether.

TEENER FAMILIES- you will receive your formal update this week regarding your season. NCYBA will be in attendance on a call with the Greater West Shore Teener League this week regarding the future of the 2020 season.

Also within this meeting, we began to discuss refunds and how we will go about this task- both from a registration perspective, as well as a raffle ticket perspective. Within the week, you will be receiving an email regarding the options available for your spring 2020 refund. We are going to need your cooperation to make this as smooth as possible for all of us.

Even though our season is cancelled, we still want to offer the kids an opportunity to play and practice. We will look to begin to open practices/clinics soon after Cumberland County makes the turn into the Green phase. We have discussed the possibility of a practice/ clinic based program, free of charge, for all players interested in enhancing their skills in anticipation of the fall season or next spring seasons….or just way to get the kids outside with friends and have fun!!!  If we move to the point where we want to play games, so be it. We can leave that up to the age group and to the discretion of the coordinators running that age group.

With us waiting for the move to green, we have the time to assemble a new list of guidelines all players, parents and coaches will follow. Emails will be sent to all families prior to any form of practice starting, in order for all to review the changes that must take place in order for us to provide a safe and practical baseball environment for everyone. Lists will be provided at practices, as well as posted around our  field complexes for easy reference. I am reviewing lists given to us from the Cal Ripken League, as well as other lists from local programs that relate to our situation.

As always, please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have any questions. I will do my best to respond as soon as I can.

Stay Safe NCYBA Families!!!

Regards,

Paul Richie
