New Cumberland Youth Baseball welcomes Scott Kelly, Tony DeStephano, Andrew Thumma and Jake Thumma to its 2010 Teener Coaching Staffs and welcomes them back to New Cumberland Youth Baseball.

Scott and Tony are assistant coaches on the Teener American team and Andrew and Jake are assistants on the Thirteen-Year-Old Black team.

All four coaches played baseball for New Cumberland and all four were All-Stars at all levels.

Scott and Tony played during the same period of time for NCYBA. Scott began play with NCYBA as a six-year-old in 1992 playing for the T-Ball Braves. In 1994 and 1995 he played on the Pony Orioles, and during the 1996 through 1998 seasons, Scott played for the Midget Phillies. Scott played three years of Teener baseball from 1999 through 2001.

Tony’s NCYBA career began in 1993 as a seven-year-old on the T-Ball Twins. In 1994 and 1995, he played for the Pony Cards and Pony Phillies. During 1996 through 1998 Tony was a Midget Card. Tony played three years of Teener baseball from 1999 through 2001.

Andrew began play with New Cumberland in 1994 on the T-ball Cubs as a six-year-old. In 1996 and 1997, he was a Pony A before joining the Midget Tigers from 1998 through 2000. Andrew played three years of Teener baseball from 2001 through 2003.

Jake followed two years after older brother Andrew as a five-year-old on the 1996 T-Ball Cubs. In 1999 and 2000 he played for the Pony Royals. From 2001 through 2003, Jake played on the Midget Tigers. He concluded his NCYBA career with three years in Teener from 2004 through 2006. Jake was NCYBA’s first recipient of the Bob Beshore sportsmanship award.

It is exciting to have Scott, Tony, Andrew and Jake back with New Cumberland Youth Baseball.
